2008 - Starting point: Science and technology transfer
The foundations of Oxy3 technology were developed at the Montanuniversität Leoben. The focus was on oxidative processes and their mechanisms of action.
From the beginning, the goal was not theoretical research alone, but the transfer of scientific findings into functional systems. To enable this technology transfer for real-world applications, the spin-off Oxy3 was founded in 2008.

2009 - Systematic development
With the Oxy3 company’s founding, the focus shifted to practical application. Step by step the technology was adapted to a wide range of market-relevant scenarios.
Vehicle interior treatment soon emerged as the first key market. With the OC-102, persistent odors in interior spaces could be permanently eliminated. This practical success formed the foundation for all subsequent development steps.
2013 - Industrial stability through partnership: pro aqua
In 2013, pro aqua GmbH contributed its expertise to Oxy3 GmbH. As an established company with extensive experience in water treatment, pro aqua provides the ideal foundation for our gas-based ozone technology.
Today, both companies operate symbiotically: pro aqua manufactures Oxy3 products, while Oxy3 manages development, application engineering, and sales. For customers, this means specialized expertise combined with 20 years of industrial manufacturing experience.
2019 – The Oxy3 redesign
In 2019, the Oxy3 brand underwent a comprehensive repositioning. As part of this redesign, both the product and the brand appearance were updated with a modern visual identity, including a new logo and a clearly refined design language.
The goal was to make Oxy3’s technological expertise more visible and to align the brand consistently with current requirements in professional application environments. The result is a distinctive, contemporary appearance that emphasizes functionality, clarity, and innovation alike.
2024 - Carcinogenic pollutants under control
Our innovative strength has opened up a new field of application for us: protecting firefighters from carcinogenic pollutants (PAHs).
Removing carcinogenic fire residues (PAHs) from protective clothing presents technological challenges. We have taken on this challenge and, after almost two years of extensive development, are now able to offer the Oxy3 decontamination system to fire departments.
